Hedychium Spicatum Essential Oil


Hedychium coronarium is a perennial flowering plant originally from the Himalayas region of Nepal and India. It has a loose terminal flower spikes, having individual flowers that are yellow in color with reddish stamen. The plant is best harvested in midsummer and late summer.


  • It is useful in local inflammations, nausea, asthma, bronchitis, hiccups and in pain.
  • It counteracts had mouth taste and smell.
  • It acts as an anti-nausea agent and has carminative properties.
  • It is also used as tonic, antibiotic, anti-asthmatic, anti-inflammatory and stimulant.
  • It is used in treating nausea, halitosis, vomiting, diminished appetite, hiccups and local inflammation.
  • It is used in perfume formulations due to its wonderful rooty aroma.
